Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 October 2026

These Terms of Service apply when you access or use the SetupGear ZA online store or place an order through it. Please read them before ordering. By proceeding through the store, you agree to these terms, subject to all consumer rights and protections that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under South African law.

1. About SetupGear and contact

SetupGear ZA is the trading name used by Tristan Botha to operate this online store for PC and gaming accessories in South Africa. Business/contact address: 14 Charles Street, Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal, 3781, South Africa.

For questions about products, orders, compatibility, delivery or these terms, contact us at setupgear.za@gmail.com or WhatsApp/telephone +27 74 211 2980.

2. Product descriptions, images and options

We aim to keep product descriptions, specifications, images, compatibility notes and prices accurate. Supplier images may illustrate a product family or use-case and may not show every included accessory. Some listings have several colours, sizes, models, switches or performance options with different specifications or prices. Check the exact option selected and the listing details before adding an item to your cart or submitting an order. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether a product is compatible with your setup.

If we discover a material listing, pricing, stock or specification error, or cannot supply an item, we will contact you and resolve the order in accordance with applicable law. We will not use a listing error to remove consumer rights that apply to you.

3. Prices, promotions and availability

Prices are shown in South African rand (ZAR) unless a listing says otherwise. Taxes, delivery charges, discounts and payment methods are displayed at checkout where applicable. Promotions may have specific products, dates or conditions; check the offer details before ordering. Product availability can change, and stock information is not a substitute for a successful order confirmation.

If a material pricing or availability error affects an order, we will explain the issue and handle any payment or cancellation in accordance with applicable law. A promotion is not guaranteed to apply unless its conditions are met and the checkout reflects it.

4. Orders and payment

When you submit an order, you request to purchase the selected products at the price and on the terms presented at checkout. We will send the relevant order or payment confirmation through the checkout and order-confirmation process. An order may need to be checked for payment, stock, delivery or suspected fraud issues. If we cannot fulfil an order, we will contact you and arrange an appropriate resolution, including any refund required by law.

You are responsible for supplying accurate contact, billing and delivery information. Review the cart, chosen variants, delivery address, shipping cost and payment method before finally placing an order. Payment is processed using the methods shown at checkout; do not send card numbers, passwords or banking credentials by email or WhatsApp.

5. Shipping and delivery

SetupGear currently offers standard shipping within South Africa. Shipping is R100 for eligible orders below R1,000 and free for eligible orders of R1,000 or more. The available charge is shown at checkout before payment.

Supplier delivery times vary by product, supplier, processing time and destination. Standard delivery is estimated at 7–12 days, but actual timing can vary by product, supplier, processing time and destination. This estimate is not guaranteed; check the product page and delivery options shown at checkout. The R100 shipping charge is a flat standard shipping fee and does not buy faster delivery or make an order arrive sooner. We do not currently offer paid expedited shipping through these suppliers.

Please read our Shipping & Delivery Policy before ordering. Nothing in these terms removes a consumer's rights under applicable law if goods are not delivered as required.

6. Returns, refunds, cancellations and quality rights

Our Returns & Refunds Policy explains how to contact us and request help. Product type, condition, timing and the reason for a return may affect the process, but the policy and these terms do not reduce any mandatory rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or other applicable South African law.

Depending on the transaction and product, statutory cooling-off, cancellation, rejection, repair, replacement or refund rights may apply. Defective, unsafe or materially misdescribed goods will be handled in accordance with the rights and remedies applicable to the circumstances. Contact us promptly with the order number, a description of the issue and supporting photos where useful.

7. Supplier services and product feedback

The store may use third-party suppliers, fulfilment providers, payment processors, delivery services, review tools and other services to operate. The use of a third-party service does not remove SetupGear's obligations to consumers under applicable law.

Some product feedback shown on this store may be imported from supplier-marketplace listings. Where shown, such feedback is labelled as marketplace feedback and is not verified as a purchase made through SetupGear. Product ratings or review counts should not be interpreted as proof that the reviewer ordered from SetupGear. Products without review records will not be assigned fabricated customer reviews.

8. Website use and intellectual property

Use the store lawfully and do not attempt to interfere with the website, bypass security controls, access another person's account or disrupt services. Store branding, original text and design materials belong to their respective owners and may not be reused in a misleading or unauthorised way where permission is required.

9. Privacy and third-party links

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information may be handled. Third-party websites and services may have their own terms and privacy practices; review those terms when you leave our store. Only provide information necessary for the purpose requested and use the official checkout for payment.

10. Liability and statutory protections

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a warranty, consumer right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. Subject to that rule, we are not responsible for interruptions or losses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, although we will take reasonable steps to communicate material issues and assist with affected orders.

11. Updates and applicable law

We may update these terms when the store, its services or legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies to use of the store after it is posted, subject to any rules that apply to an order already placed. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and any dispute remains subject to the protections and jurisdiction required by applicable law.

12. Contact us

For questions about these terms or an order, email setupgear.za@gmail.com or contact us on +27 74 211 2980. Please include your order number if you have one.
